Study of the pore pressure becomes crucial because it affects the planning of drilling, especially in terms of cost reduction. Pore pressure serves to predict the wellbore stability, optimal casing seat selection, mud program design and also avoid drilling disaster such as blow-out / kick, lost well, and stuck pipe. Fields "X" has eight exploration wells targeting a sandstone reservoir at Talangakar Formation. Prediction of overpressure zone used several data such as log data (gamma ray, sonic, density and resistivity) ,drilling report, mudlogging, core, pressure (MDT / DST) and seismic. Overpressure zone indicated by suddenly change in the pattern of sonic diagrams and pore pressure. Based on the results of the study, the overpressure began to appear at depth 2545 m TVD 2820 m TVD in each well. Overpressure zone in the Fields "X" generally located in Talangakar Formation. Effective stress relatively constant with increasing depth indicates disequilibrium compaction mechanism becomes the main mechanism of overpressure, but it was found the effect of unloading mechanism such as diagenesis of clay minerals (smectite to illite), which acts on the pore pressure increase significantly. Geomechanic properties is determined from elastic modulus and principal stress. Based on geomechanic study, in-situ stress show that SHmax has the biggest value, Sv in the middle, and Shmin is last one. Prediction of overpressure and geomechanic properties is used as a reference for the safety drilling window included mud weight recommendation, shoe depth, and well bore stability. Based on the trend of pore pressure and fracture pressure prediction, density of drilling mud that was recommended to penetrate the overpressure zone are 1.39 to 1.44 SG. Density of drilling mud that was recommended for Cibulakan Formation is 1.28 SG. Density of drilling mud that was recommended for Baturaja Formation is 1.32 to 1.38 SG. Density of drilling mud that was recommended for Talangakar Formation is 1.44 to 1.56 SG. Recommendations of shoe depth for planning wells are 1158 m plan (20"), 1634 m (13 3/8"), 2307 m (9 5/8"), and 3372 m (7") in the TVD unit. Recommendation of well bore trajectory is paralel with SHmax.
